POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced, relationship driven West Coast Sales Representative to drive revenue growth and expand our presence across the Western U.S. This role is ideal for a sales professional with a strong technical background in computer control systems and an established or emerging network in plant science, agbiotech, commercial horticulture, controlled environment agriculture (CEA), and/or building automation.
You will be responsible for driving revenue growth, managing key accounts, and opening new markets by promoting advanced control technologies that increase operational efficiency, sustainability, and automation for clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive new business development across the West Coast, focusing on growers, greenhouse operators, agricultural producers, distributors, building control integrators and new markets.
- Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to closing and post sales follow up.
- Build and expand strong customer relationships based on technical credibility and solution driven selling.
- Conduct product demos, presentations, and onsite visits to showcase system capabilities.
- Partner with engineering and product teams to translate customer needs into tailored solutions and provide product development suggestions that help take Conviron and Argus to the next level.
- Attend industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to represent the company and expand market reach.
- Monitor competitive activity, market trends, and customer feedback to inform strategic sales decisions.
- Meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales targets.
Required Qualifications
- 3–7 years of sales experience in computer control systems, automation, or related technology fields – ideally to plant science and commercial horticulture verticals.
- Strong technical understanding of sensors, PLCs, SCADA systems, building automation controls, or environmental/irrigation management systems.
- Proven ability to manage a complex sales cycle with technical buyers.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated track record of achieving and exceeding sales goals.
- Ability to travel throughout the West Coast (approx. 40–60%).
- Strong history with a CRM (Salesforce, Pipedrive etc.)
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications
- Existing network in plant science, agbiotech, horticulture, greenhouse automation, controlled environment agriculture (CEA), and/or building controls.
- Experience selling to growers, facility managers, integrators, or engineering firms.
- Familiarity with climate control systems, irrigation automation, energy management systems, or IoT based monitoring platforms.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Business, or a related field.
