It seems like yesterday we were at the Plant Canada conference in
Winnipeg. Thank you Plant Canada for putting on such a successful event!
Conviron and Argus were delighted to welcome over 30 plant scientists from across Canada on a guided tour of the Conviron factory as well as the Argus controlled greenhouse at Assiniboine Park.
The Argus Controls greenhouse at Assiniboine Park is approximately 8,500 sq. ft. (790 sq. m), divided into 5 bays and supports 15,000 plants comprised of over 150 different species.
Another tour stop was the Conviron plant growth chamber manufacturing facility. Participants learned how plant growth chambers are made and experienced Conviron's R&D in action. As of 2024 all Argus Controls hardware is being manufactured at the Conviron facility in Winnipeg, so tour participants could also learn about how Argus panels are made.
Celebrating Conviron’s 60th and Argus’ 40th anniversary together with you was also a special moment for our team. We are delighted you all could join us for birthday cake on our terrace!
In total, over 500 plant scientists from across Canada participated in the event. Scientists from several societies were involved in the plenary, poster and many networking sessions, including:
- Canadian Botanical Association
- Canadian Society of Plant Biologists
- Canadian Phytopathological Society
- Canadian Weed Science Society
- Canadian Society of Agronomy
- Canadian Society for Horticultural Science
- Canadian Association for Plant Biotechnology
